He wraps around my foot
Like a living anchor
Holding me fast to this moment in time.
Everyone has a holy duty.

He wraps around my foot
Like a living anchor
Holding me fast to this moment in time.
Everyone has a holy duty.

They come with dancing smiles
Prancing across the meadow
Oh Joy unbounded
Return
Return
Return

I go outside to a chorus of birds.
“ How can you sing at a time like this?”
“How can we not?”
SING.

Tiny faces fill my screen,
Humans connecting over the inter webs,
While cats and dogs and babies
Squirm, saunter, and snuggle
In our view.
An Owl hoots outside
An Owl!
Where earlier only destruction reigned.
Reminding us,
We are all unique and we are not alone.
We are undivided in Joy.
We are multiplied.

I opine about bovine
That I can not see
They are just down the road from me
But too far to walk
Both of us bound by railings
To keep us safe.
Oh beautiful sacred world,
May we reach out with love in all directions
As we honor the fences of safety.

At the foot of my bed
a calico cat opens Her golden green eyes
Reaching for my toes with pink and black roses.
How do you know you’ve been asleep?
You wake up!
STRETCH!

With the smallest of breezes
The trees wave blessings.
The little white dog
Drops the world on a string at my feet.
………..

In times of nightmares
Be grateful for soft sweet dreams
That purr your soul
Awake

A tiny titmouse came to tea
And sang a little song to me
I would sing the song to you,
But I haven’t the gift that that songbird has,
But you can listen with your heart.
And She assures me you can hear it too.

Once upon a time
It was the most expensive leash I ever bought
Custom
Two brass rings!
Could turn into a kennel rope in seconds
Or walk a dog down a country lane.
Today,
It saved my wrist.
While sitting in the sun sipping tea
Border collie beside me,
Leashed in a cone of healing, Bored of the ennui…
Suddenly, She bolts.
Full speed
She tears after a cat who had jumped the fence.
Snap.
The dog gratefully in a fence in yard.
The cat safety back over the fence.
The handle dangling from my arm
And only bright red marks on my wrist.
You never know what Grace may look like,
Or how somedays you might just grab that brass ring.
