Tat a tat tat tat
Percussion echoes into the dawning dusk
Dinner!
Tat a tat tat tat
Percussion echoes into the dawning dusk
Dinner!
I’m all at sea
The sky is grey
And I’m all at sea,
When a cat the color of sand
Saunters across the patio,
I open the door to see
And He vanishes
Like a desert mirage.
The purple trumpets are filled
With the tiny bugs
Feasting and pollinating.
A large anole hears the call
And joins in, feasting on the pollinators.
Supping from the lowest leaf, is the tiniest little lizard
I may have ever seen!
No matter our size,
We all need to eat.
The calico cat
Got a kitty cup cat bed
And curled up into its cozy security
We all need safe places to nap and dream.
Sitting in the sun
With a black and white dog
Light gleaming rainbows on fur
White or black
Both glimmer, shimmer, shine
Honor the prism of life.
My tummy rumbles
Nausea comes in waves
Oh would this tide please ebb!
Then a softness flows beside me and begins to purr
Countering the rumbling with love.
Oh sweet cat companion!
It is so much easier to be queasy with You.
My human is a nurse
She works 12 hour shifts tending to the hurts of this world
When she comes home
I work 12 hour shifts tending to the hurts you can’t see
Both of us are essential workers in these times.
The sunflowers smell like honey,
The roses fill the air with the scent of Love,
And jasmine, oh jasmine!
Yet the bee chose to come inside to visit me,
Oh, how I have missed You.
He struts across the table in the sun
Boldly in front of everyone!
Flashing his deep red throat
Bobbing up and down….
As if He was the finest thing around!
For whom is this display for?
Strut your stuff,
No matter who you think is watching!
The tiniest of flies
Lights on my finger
All iridescent and rainbowed
With crystalline wings.
What does it mean to say
All life matters?
