In the early morning,
the gray pink sky
gives way to
Blue.
The world transforms daily –
Butterflies are everywhere!

Wait
Pandas?
are you a painting cliche?
you did not meet any pandas today.
So why are they popping off my brush?
They belong in the wild,
like me they don’t breed in captivity.
In-vitro you say?
14 in China on BBC?
Twins in Atlanta?
Panda- monium pandaemonium !
Oh sweet ancient bear,
what good does it do to save you if we destroy your world?
Our salvations are intertwined.
My tail is long but my tale is short – for I am young now.
oh you think you are tailless?
You and i have a story as old as time.
We must tell our tales as best we can:
so we can help evolve a kinder land.
We all find ourselves overwhelmed at times.
We all look to climb into a cave of safety.
but really, not all caves are safe –
not all caves are caves –
Introduce yourself to the local host –
even scared, you may find benevolence, if not security.
Welcome yourself into the cave of the Heart.
I’ve never been very good at conflict.
It feels like we are speaking two separate languages.
Yet, you are standing on the same ground as I am….
(even though you can fly!)
and we are breathing the same air.
You can cling to survive.
Today, as I parked my car and went to open the other door,
a small scared friend scrabbled out of the door handle’s well.
Traveling the super-highways of life,
or just I-95
we sometimes cling to survive.
Traveling scared,
we are unaware that we still might need saving.
Gently I cup the frightened one,
the panic increases – a jump away, a jump onto my chest, a jump back into the well –
and into my hand again, heart thumping –
I place the tiny frog onto a leaf in the garden.
Being safe and getting saved,
is often a terrifying ordeal.
