The littlest greenest lizard
Clutched the tiniest rosebud
Perhaps for the small ant inside
But I do not know why,
But does it matter?
All I saw was Love

The littlest greenest lizard
Clutched the tiniest rosebud
Perhaps for the small ant inside
But I do not know why,
But does it matter?
All I saw was Love

A butterfly with wings of shining ebony
Flittered down beside
A collie with fur of shining ebony
Sun glinted of nature’s beauty
Reminding us all
To give thanks

The tiny toad sought safety from the noonday sun,
And from the dogs who chase toads…
But
Safety is not to be found
Under the favorite toy of the collie.
Surprise!
…..
Just because something provides shade
Or protection from rain,
Doesn’t make it safe.
……
Find safety in community

The tiny dog
With butterfly ears
Danced at the end of his leash…
And the whole world smiled.
…….
No. Really.
It did!
Don’t miss those moments of pure joy,
They may be tiny,
But so are mustard seeds.

The body of the earth
Holds the bodies of our ancestors
As our wings
Like those of angels
Give us flight.
We are called to shine,
To be soft and brave,
And to trust.
Fly free in the direction of your dreams.
The shop dog curled into a tight ball
Looked pleading at the tall thin man
For escape, relief, or salvation.
….

The store was filled
A sale was on
Shoppers filled the formally peaceful place,
A salvation for the proprietor….
……
The tall thin man produced a long thin leash
And the shop dog was saved too.
….
We all need rescue
We all deserve salvation
It just looks different depending on who we are

I opened the door
After the storm
Expecting to find fallen trees
But
All I saw was the huge tail feathers
Of two grand birds
Taking to flight across my yard
As leaves swirled around my feet.
……….
Sometimes,
More often than we think,
Our most perfect witness
Is our presence.

Tiny birds sing me awake
As the day begins
Peace eagles swirl on the thermals
As the night begins
Nothing ends
Only shifting winds

The glossy black parts of living fur coats
Meld into each other on the bed
Calico and Collie
Unsure of their relationship face to face,
still can dream
Back to back

Crowned with leaves
She shined like the moon reflected in the swamp,
Glittery and green.
…..
Goddesses are among us,
Messy,
and Mirthful.
