There was an old beagle
Waiting in the veterinarian clinic today.
He had the softest ears
And the kindest eyes.
And he knew.
Not today,
but soon.
And it was ok.

Seek and pounce,
rest and purr,
in equal measure.

Three little circular bundles curled up together
Separately
As the rain poured down.
.
All on one bed.
Two dogs
One cat
All mammals
All girls
All unique
One family.
.
We can create divisions
Or we can live in unity.

I fell in love today with a stranger.
.
As we passed
He jumped up, paws on my belly,
He looked right into my eyes and smiled…
.
I saw him later,
In the competition obedience rings…
Not once, not twice….
But jumping everywhere he and his handler could….
.
Yeah, did I mention,
He was taken….
.
Thats ok,
We had a moment.
.
Wonder if he has any brothers….

Aspirations begin with inspirations…
Breathe.

Crossing the bridge
Four birds in flight
The sun is setting
Only to be rising somewhere else

Out side the theatre,
A committed pair are out for a stroll.
Sometimes it is good to waddle along together,
Even when you can fly.
V
Driving in the van,
An owl swoops across my windshield
And up
onto the power lines at the end of the street.
.
I sit at the stop sign,
Heart pounding,
Watching the owl, who seems nonplussed.

They say not to put all your eggs in one basket,
Isn’t that inaccurate?
Nature teaches us to do just that!
Perhaps the lesson is not to put other’s eggs into your basket…
