The border collie was a beautiful blur of
Poetry in motion.

Inspiration
To
Spring
Or
Leap
Or
Jump
Or
just a reminder to reset your clock
For the possibilities ahead.

My eyes opened
Onto a face filled with mud and mayhem…
Stickers and prickers framed Her fur,
As She danced wet earth roses across my heart with Her paws.
Do not discount the daily messy blessings…
No mud, no lotus?
Know mud!
Know lotus!

I do not eavesdrop intentionally,
But Your Divine voice sings in my ears,
Ringing the world with
Love.

He came to the window,
Face bloody and yet proud.
Oh the life of a feral boy,
Let me put the ointment on your wounds,
While you purr your way into my heart.

The lawn was filled with red breasts
A dance of spring
Filled my heart

The leash was dropped
(By accident or neglect or fatigue)
But oh the joy that dropped tether!
(Despite the protestations of the human)
The field was filled with delight.

Sometimes it is important not to listen to the voices of judgement or embarrassment
When opportunity strikes, leap!

She has wheels for her back legs,
And a Purple Heart on the forehead…
And love for the world.
.
The little girl
Greeted me with joy,
Then nuzzled her human for more neck rubs,
Her eyes squinting in happy bliss.
.
We are all wounded
We are all recovering
We are all learning
We are all loved.

She leaned in
And purred,
stretching her neck out
To nudge my hand.
My heart melted.
.
But I had to reach my hand out to Her first.

A flash of red
Against a blue sky
Amidst a forming fog of pastel green
on branches still barren black
A flash of red
Brought me back
