wild life walk

I am walking with my firebird friend

and from out of the swamp comes a

tiger

tiger cat

to walk beside us,

as we talk our path

and learn to walk our walk,

from around the corner comes to stalk

a lion

orange cat lion

the color of caramel and creme

to help me see the truth of our dream,

and then a spirit of solid white,

eyes glowing bright

footsteps so light as if from vapor, an etheral queen

materializes and thus is seen

white kitten

she circles twice –

then disappears into palmettos beside the road –

(telling us what we already know)

that stories must be told –

and so we commit to tell

stories that heal, and help as well

to each other and to you

wherever you be

we must all tell the stories that help set us free.

Mother’s pride vs fear

Do you want to see the Baby?

(thinking they could jump the fence easily, small panic set in)

bulldoggies at fenceAnd then from in the shadows something moved……

Oh, you were asking me…….oh, look…

What a lovely baby!

bullpup in shadow

wagging tails and soft hips,

smiles bloomed on all our lips.

Two leggeds and four, we need to trust each other more.

Fountains of LIfe

dancing waters

The cry of the starlings this morning calls me home,

like him I, too, am a refugee.

And i too am an invasive species.

Yet the fountains of life and joy greet us both,

unconcerned of my parentage or species.

or home.

House Mice

Grandmother Mouse,

Is this your house?

some would say it’s a tree –

but they do not know you like me.

winds of change

You saw me on the wind today,

You thought you looked too late…

feather

then came

a gentle reminder

that

you too, were born to soar.

(stop flapping and ride the thermals)

Rainbow Crow

My grandfather had a friend.

She was a crow.

You could see the rainbow in her wings.

baby crow

Did you think because she was a bird, she was a pet?

do not fret, many make that mistake.
