Well dressed

I didn’t know it was a formal occasion,

But the way you were dressed by nature

Taught me otherwise,

Your black and white tuxedo

Gleamed in the setting sun

As You gaze at me with golden eyes.

.

Every day is a special occasion,

And you are born perfectly dressed for it…

No matter what clothes you choose to wear.

Focus

The dog sat at the base of the tree

Fully focused

On the possibilities above.

The squirrel sat on the limb of a tree

Fully focused

On the possibilities below.

Pray and prey may sound alike

But one leads to peace.

Sometimes we confuse focus with meditation ,

We all need both.

But the possibilities of peace are deeply dependent on how we focus

As well as the possibilities we focus on.

Dreams of ancestors

deep in our DNA

We are Lions

dreaming of each other

With pride.

Deep in the marrow of our bones,

Our common ancestors

Rejoice at our potential.

We are their survivors,

We are the dream.

Wake up to the possibilities.

Bugged

On the glass of the window pane

Reflected light

Bounces images of our faces back to us so brightly

I almost miss

You

Masquerading as a grasshopper

Even the tiniest of antennas

Receives messages of Love.

Tune in,

Fledged

In the cedar tree

a nest

long abandoned

Its occupants fledged and fled

Leaving nothing but beauty behind

Automatic doors

She stood in front of the door,

Not knowing it was a door

How could She fathom it could open?

And then it did!

Shadows and change

Overwhelmed

I

look down

A small blue flower at my feet

Is filled with the shadow

of a small orange fritillary.

.

No matter our size

We all have shadows

the grace of a bright sun

Can be a spot soothing shade

Where we can contemplate

And be reminded

That all growth requires change.

Small

The smallest bird

Sat? Clung?

Can you cling to something and be relaxed at the same time?

Apparently.

Non-attachment is hard…

Yet, examples are all around us.

The smallest bird with simple ease held onto a blade of grass

Then flew off into the sky.

Horizon

Hang on to your shelve

and seek the horizon.

The I missed you bow

When your sister from another mother comes for a visit

And you didn’t expect Her!

When you meet

On the street

A cousin with different feet

When you meet someone new who’s really swell

With happy tails and tales to tell

And

You realized how much you missed You…

Oh namaste!

Let’s play!
