beside my home, on a plot of no man’s land,
there is a dead tree
that has been tall and empty,
save for the occasional woodpecker stopping by for supper.
but today
in the rain
new tenants moved in!
they are proficient house keepers –
keeping things neat and tidy –
model neighbors reminding me of what is really important:
they only take what has been given, and whatever is given they freely receive.
Trusting the abundance of the world
and her generative powers –
Peace Eagles remind me of mine.
out of her purse he popped –
clutching onto a teddy bear.
much to both our surprise,
we saw each others eyes –
as uninvited hands from humans of all ages began to come from everywhere
to touch the wild truth they long for.
Forget what you (or others) have in pocket books –
look to your heart –
for there your own wild truth lives.

oh pleeze come on and play with me!

have you ever thought – it is because you do not play enough?)
sitting outside,
black lace against blue,
i look to You.
my fingertips hold my consciousness,
as do Your wings,
in the stillness
all is flight.
calico on silk and angora
we are piecework and all knit together.
whatever the fiber –
we are all made from common cloth
i hear the cardinal and the starling
with equal measure.
the cat hears the hawk
and runs to the boy.
sometimes we need to listen with discernment as well as equanimity.
