A individual road crew appeared,
Where did they come from, this
small construction company of one
Paved glistening paths
Across the screen of my computer
……..
Listen to the messages from the world
That tell you to take it slow,
Be present,
Breathe.

Be amazed with all that surrounds you.
You don’t always have to fly
To get where you’re going
Putting one foot after another
Is good advice …..
Even if you have wings
I was sitting in the spinning of the world,
So full of fear and terrors,
When a friend asked for a hug….
When the world feels full of hate,
Turn toward
Love.
The oldest wisdoms
Always feel new
When the moment is right,
And the messenger kind.
Some days you have no egrets,
Some days you have many.
Let them take flight.
She curled up into a ball
As I struggled to meditate with brush and ink.
Water dripped onto her image
And a heart appeared…

Are
Everywhere
The day before young boys
Jump into chilly waters
To retrieve
A cross
Tossed
In with sanctity and hope,
The day before the Kings come
The day before La Befana flys on her besom
The day before Twelve Drummers drum,
A girl at the end of her rope prays for the return of a lost dog,
A woman in a cap tosses treats to squirrels and crows,
And a man with a dog the color of paprika
Wishes us Happy New Year.
And so it is.
Though the dog discovering the cat in the tree may jump and bark,
The cat knows
they were not chased here.
They chose this limb.
