Gasping

My heart skipped a beat

I saw the red

Only red

And the goose

Just standing beside the road…

Gasp

Tears well up…

.

Oh wait….

It’s a sweatshirt in the dirt!

.

But that’s ok,

Just like we see snakes in coiled ropes and fallen vines…

we occasionally see tragedy where there is none.

Compassion bonds and binds us together.

May it remind us

We are made in the image of You.

The goose looked at me

And joined their colleagues in the sky,

Flying low across the field

As I dried my eyes.
