At first it looked like two cats encircling their prey,

Til I realized the cats were asleep,

And the frog was dead…

Handed a dustpan to move the corpse to a more lasting place of peace

(This scene was in the doorway),

I bend down,

The amphibian came back to life! Oh clever One!

And leap to freedom…

The cats, sleepy eyed stretched slowly and sauntered back indoors.

Sometimes a nap can truly be salvation.
