Her tail was tucked beneath her body,
she shivered,
and expressed her anal glands.
it was only a routine veterinary exam –
but she had no context……..
she came back into the exam room in the arms of the gentle tech,
who now reeked of the fears of a small dog.
She came back in to the arms of the one who Loves her.
and showed the one who loves her the possibilities of connection.
We can train for veterinary visits, we can train for resiliency –
trauma is going to happen.
but with daily practice, so can recovery.
we are surrounded by Love.
