The Spanish Needles  (Bidens Alba)

are covered with white blossoms, and dark needles,

and  honeybees!

Together, they make honey.

Separately they both sting.

one in fear, the other to grow.

Bidden or unbidden –

we bloom where we are planted.

and if we are not scared,

we grow and share life’s sweetness.
