as we fail to live in the present.

we say don’t complain,

and yet fail to listen and learn.

holy balance,

we teeter on the brink

as we insist we are the pinnacle.

we stand on the nose,

ignorant that we are the thumb

that makes the rude gestures to the Gods we ourselves create

blame

them

for our faults.
