A song from above

A song from above

barred owl in branch

a hallowed chant

reminding me

that Bards are everywhere

and barred only by our blindness –

The song you hear

is ours!

This spring at a wildlife preserve we frequent, I found the hollowed-out hole of a barred owl’s nest. I went as often as I could and finally saw the soft feathers and big brown eyes of a chick!! Beautiful creatures! A little snaky now, but will head back soon to see if the adolescent owl is flying!
