saves the day –
I am focused

alert!
Here i am
in a crook of a tree of life.
i am no enemy of Eagle or Dragons
i run up and down all trees with equanimity –
it is you who speak ill of those you fear –
i am not chattering gossip..
i am calling a warning.

I take my picnic to the forest.
i hear a familiar tap tap tap.
“Hello!,”
i say.
Suddenly the syncopated rhythm stops.
“It’s always so awkward
when strangers talk to you from a different table in the restaurant.”
but how else will we ever meet new friends?
the tapping starts again.
