Nature decorates.
stripes on wings are funny things –
do they help you fly?
why simplicity?
Nature’s raiments are complex –
We too are gilded.
beauty fly your world!
think not of austerity
but abundant be.

In the folds are possibilities,
potentials,
and raiments!
but you can not claw them out!
we must choose a pattern,
cut it out and then
sew sew!
the sun has set and the concert begins-
the stage is empty,
the air is full!
frog and toad –
crickets and hoppers –
so loud i can barely think,
the light spills from the french doors of the house –
the sound spills from everywhere.
i stand enveloped in darkness and sound.
today
i met a cardinal in a cage.
I do not know the tale that landed him
behind bars,
but none of his tail feathers were there.
and so
while you may see the cage as a jail,
his tail tells a different story –
one of compassionate care.
we all need to be in cages somedays,
some we build ourselves,
some others put us in – until we can learn to fly.
sometimes, we are all confused and scared.
we must learn to trust.
we must teach resilience to remember.
Midsummer’s Night –
who’s to say who’s the Faery Queen?
who are you to judge a Dream?
Let us give thanks for long days,
and short Knights,
and magical beings seen and unseen.
at the edges
of bed and blanket,
of wake and sleep,
curls a poodle,
between light and dark,
night and day,
the sun will come up,
we should go play!
longest day
or longest night,
we should all live in comfort and trust.
under the weather?
my advise – look outside,
take a breathe, find a lap,
take a nap….
it will be all ok.
