that is my mother,

we have the same name,

she said, as she pointed to the wall of her room –

following her finger  i looked at the pictures taped to the vinyl wallpaper,

but i saw no family photographs there –

the dog did not care.

He followed her gaze and sat down next to her slippered feet,

which looked remarkably like his fur.

the one in pink is

my granddaughter …

my whole family is there.

I looked closer at the picture she was pointing too –

it was of a creche.

who could deny her granddaughter is an angel!

Truth sometimes has nothing to do with what you think are seeing.
