sometimes, all you need to do is ask.
it may seem like i go from here to there
without a care,
wandering,
lost in thought.
but i am simply
pondering the possibilities.
i didn’t know where You were,
I searched and searched.
and when I found you?
I thought You were dead!
but then You peed –
all over my comforter…….
what a relief!
for You and me.
i never thought i would be so happy to do laundry.
Sometimes life is terrifying…
and trust is very very hard…
and
it seems like all you can do is scream!
but it will be all ok,
even if you can’t trust it will be –all will be well
all will be well –
all will be well,
all manner of things
will be well.
there is a saying that good fences make good neighbors
but i am not so sure that is true,
i think that fences make it very hard to see You…
and that can make it hard to make friends.
the crow soars above, laughing , cawing –
why fly over me? why not stop and stay? i say, calling.
silly!
why not join me!
in the daylight of the full moon morn.
the sun bright in my eye,
i still see You.
May we all soar in Love,
each with our own flight paths,
the cat in the sink is sick.
and i, who profess no fear of death,
am scared of loss and shame.
what can i do to save this soul –
where lies the fault and blame?
he looks at me with big open eyes –
not everything belongs to you,he says, including me.
Listen for the lessons in the blink of My eye –
and i try and You purr.
i jump out of bed.
under my foot is a dead lizard….
it was not my foot fall that took this life, though had he been alive it surely would have.
he was the gift of an unhappy cat – lets leave it at that…
Barking shakes the house as road workers and telephone personnel
find themselves at cross purposes –
communication is down all around.
as i try to sit,
and contemplate
i see the small one beside me gazing at the sweet gum tree.
The leaves all gone,
nothing on
the branch but the spiny ball of future hope.
focus.
the seeds of love are here.
the Sun is up!
and i am standing in a spill of golden bright.
next to me, at eye level
is a furred sprite –
and above yet another.
they look look east and west,
as i gaze north.
behind me someone other feathered laughs.
yet,
even though we may not see eye to eye –
we are all in this together.
