I saw an old friend and her service dog on Broadway today.

We spoke of the past and worried about the future.

Only the dog stood in the present.

Ah. Perhaps that is why they are such gifts…..

A rat with wings

A most auspicious rat has passed today,

He was truly a magnificent being .

All things matter, the large and the small,

And all are beloved, whether your short or your tall.

Yes,  a rat can be an angel on earth,

Offering moments of salvation and mirth.

And now he can dance with wings.

Love is the bare necessity. The simple bare necessity.

trust

dog and cat pooping

as i meditate in the meadow

i look before me to see,

a dog and a cat

in joyful reverie.

romping and playing with nary care,

and then stopping and pooping

while i sat and stared.

together they pooped and they peed and they played,

No one was judged, or blamed or shamed.
