some days are so full,
some weeks are so full,
some months, some years —
we all need to wake up –
but we also nee to nap!
some days are so full,
some weeks are so full,
some months, some years —
we all need to wake up –
but we also nee to nap!
yet again today
several articles came into my view,
and then a conversation or two –
telling me to by-pass, beat, and rise above
my reptilian brain
for the sake of my spiritual development,
and my personal self actualization.
.
no thanks.
.
out of doors i fly,
if only to get away from those more learned than i.
i like reptiles. and the parts of my brain i share with them,
and also share, by the way,
with all those feathered, finned, scaled and skinned.
after all
without the stem of my brain,
what would hold my brain flower above?
.
Beloved Ancient One who is ever new,
thank you for the small anole with the longest tail,
pointing me upwards,
reminding me, that we, and all our parts, are a part of YOU.
trying to paint,
to concentrate,
but this kitten is growing,
and Her spots are becoming stripes –
while my page is covered with spots becoming splatters.
.
sometimes all you can do is practice,
and
watch the ink flow.
a little Frenchie puppy looks at me longingly
from the arms of her new family
while we humans watch the screen
that repeatedly delays our flight,
and sends anxiety soaring –
and then cancels our flight launching anxiety into full flight.
the tiny big eared baby –
not knowing the cause of the distress,
still feels it.
minutes become hours
fighting sleep She finally falls asleep in the arms of Love.
awake i watch the restless –
and simply ask if there is another way home.
it turns out, there always is.
Ram Dass says “we are all just walking each other home,”
sometimes,
we fly.

Not all urban wild life is wild,
some are toys and some are gifts
And some are companions….
Are you Urban? Are you Wild?
As for me, I haven’t a clue,
But I am grateful ….. Very grateful.
