the sunset dog,
in his golden years…
and the calico cat at the end of the rainbow,
smile as they watch the puppy swallow the sun
and
shine.

the pocket panther
lies in the doorway
pondering the possibilities,
dreaming of pouncing on the promises
that are hidden in the DNA of all of us….

we are Wild,
we are Free.

sometimes reaching
is reaching out
not up.
love
saves
the
world.

in the darkest night,
on the brightest day –
when all feels lost,
when all is won,
when all is joy,
when all is grief,
yes, even then,
love.
it is a commandment.
it is a verb.

it is a paving stone on the road.
it is the ground of our being.

it is the Path.
it is the Way.
LOVE.
it was not night
but things got dark
and the sky began to crack

Her leg had just been amputated,
just below the knee.
the TV was on too loud.
and Her room mate was a sourpuss
who did NOT want a visit from a dog…
but please stay anyway, She said.
so we drew the curtain around us,
and there, just for a moment,
the world went away,
and all there was was Love.
patience
looks
differently
than
it
feels.
patients
also
often
look
differently
than
they
feel.
it is important
to
listen
with
patience
to
patients.
some of us have hair,
some have fur,
some scales,
or feathers……
and
that is neither good nor bad…..
on any day.
i opened the door and there on the threshold was a liquid cat,
His Love poured over the ground of my being,
He purred possibilities.
they say the states of matter are solid, liquid and gas…..
but not necessarily in that order……..
and none are steady states….
depending on the environments we are in…
some of us simply cycle thru them during the day…..
and the states of matter are not the states that matter.
in all our states, we are holy.
