well, shut my mouth!

bug on my lips

on my way to morning lauds,

my thoughts were flying elsewhere.

Suddenly a beetle flew onto my lips!

 reactive more than attentive,

my curiosity dampened with surprise,

i flicked it off with my hand.

It landed on the ground at my feet.

there We stayed,

staring at each other for a moment.

.

then, just as suddenly,

Gratitude filled me –

thank you dear beetle

for bringing me back to the present moment,

and thank you Beloved

for my mouth being closed.
