Gutters and Flight

when someone is down and out, they used to say

they were in the gutter,

a low and disgusting place –

like rock bottom –

(as if the rock clans of granite and marble, sandstone and turquoise

were somehow not worthy of respect –

after all they are the ones that always catch us,

even if it is not always gently..)

which is a long winded way to say,

today,

i was feeling blue.

then

i hear a caaw

and i run to find You…

crow on gutter

i look up and there You are on the gutter,

The blue sky outlining your rainbow black feathers –

CAW

you call to the wind.

and from above comes a response

CAW

caw

CAW

two crows one flying

and once again Love takes flight.
