The cardinal chirped in the tree beside her,
hopped up one branch,
And sang a note that she could hear.
Climbing higher
His song was small but bright and clear
From branch to branch the bird went up ,
And there he sang at the top of the tree –
Bright red and bold for all to see.
Sing out your song –
But don’t worry if you do not fly to the top
Some of us hop.
