A bowl of kitten?

Signs come in the strangest of ways.

Still, you must listen to them –

and act accordingly.

Eat your breakfast.

Take a nap.

Create art.

I’m trying to listen for spirits call! Odd chain of events. My friend’s friend’s home burned to the ground and the friends came to live with my friend for about 3 weeks. My friend enjoyed them being at her house and was eager to help with their every need. So after they moved to their new rental home, my friends (the one who opened her home to friends) cat began acting oddly, withdrawn. After many, many vet visits and tests, they cannot find out what is wrong. I’m afraid in search of an answer, my friend is putting more stress on the cat, making her unable to heal. Trying so hard to be nonjudgmental, but it is so strange. The cat is 13 and even if they find the exact cause, would she treat her, with chemo? What an ethical dilemma…I know my friend is searching for an answer. She is searching for something to make her think she has control of life. Knowing the treatment is sometimes worse that the disease…I’m struggling to not have an opinion. She is taking her tomorrow to the NC Vet school for more tests, ultrasound and needle aspirations. This will be the third time in two weeks the cat has been sedated for abdominal aspirations. I’m trying to focus on sending her and the cat healing energy. Just needed to vent…

oh it is so hard sometimes to separate our boundaries and needs from those of others. the other species who share our lives are often far more susceptible to our fears and stressors than we realize. My heart goes out to anyone who has lost their home – and to such a terrifying event as fire. for many of us, four and two footed, recovery after such events is difficult. We long for a single causality, especially when it comes to those we love – the ‘what is wrong’ and ‘what can we throw at it to heal (or more often – to make this confusion and pain i feel about this suffering go away as quickly as possible!) Cats are particularly susceptible to their immediate environments. I hope they all find the way to peace and healing.
