Jewels

jewel spiderMorning jewels

shimmer,

and catch me unaware –

I catch myself before I tear your web: the fabric of your life –

and yet,

When I move my foot –

I discover that I have stepped on a guy wire that holds your world together.

Shattered we both fall to the ground –

surprised to see the rainbow strands glimmering hope all around us.

We are loved and can still love in return.
